These Terms cover customers, riders and Partner Stores using VARTKO. Sections 8 and 9 apply specifically if you're a rider or Partner Store.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of VARTKO's website, apps and delivery network. By creating an account, booking a shipment, applying as a rider, or applying to become a Partner Store, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use VARTKO.

2. What VARTKO is

VARTKO is a parcel logistics platform connecting customers, riders and local Partner Stores in Ghana, currently operating a focused pilot network centred on Accra. VARTKO facilitates the booking, routing, custody handoff and delivery of parcels — VARTKO itself does not guarantee coverage or delivery timing outside what is confirmed through the booking flow for a specific shipment.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a VARTKO account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering, and to keep your account credentials confidential.
  • You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Rider and Partner Store accounts additionally require successful verification review before becoming operational — see sections 8 and 9.

4. Booking, pricing and payment

A quote shown before you confirm a shipment is an estimate based on the route, service level and parcel details you provide. The price is only finalised when you confirm the shipment. VARTKO reserves the right to update its pricing rules at any time; a price already confirmed for a booked shipment does not change retroactively.

Payment can be made via the VARTKO Wallet, card/mobile money through Paystack, or cash on pickup/delivery where offered. You agree to pay all applicable fees for shipments you book. Wallet balances are non-transferable to another account.

5. Prohibited items

You agree not to ship any of the following through VARTKO:

  • Illegal drugs, weapons, ammunition, or explosives.
  • Counterfeit goods or items infringing intellectual property rights.
  • Live animals, human remains, or hazardous/flammable materials.
  • Currency, precious metals, or items of extraordinary undeclared value.
  • Any item whose possession or transport is illegal under Ghanaian law.

VARTKO, its riders or Partner Stores may refuse, hold, or report any shipment reasonably suspected of containing a prohibited item.

6. Delivery, custody and verification

VARTKO uses verification codes and QR scans at pickup, storage and delivery stages to confirm custody of a parcel changes hands correctly. You're responsible for keeping any code shared with you confidential until the intended handoff occurs. A delivery confirmed with the correct verification code is treated as successfully completed.

7. Cancellations and refunds

A shipment can be cancelled before it is picked up, subject to any cancellation terms shown at the time of booking. Once a parcel has been picked up, cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the shipment's stage and is handled case-by-case through VARTKO Support. Payment processing fees charged by Paystack are non-refundable.

8. Additional terms for riders

  • Rider accounts require successful identity, vehicle and license verification before activation.
  • Riders are independent operators using the VARTKO platform to receive delivery assignments, not VARTKO employees.
  • Riders agree to handle every parcel with reasonable care and to follow VARTKO's verification steps at every custody handoff.
  • Compensation for completed deliveries is calculated per VARTKO's active rider compensation rules and paid out through the methods available in the Rider app.

9. Additional terms for Partner Stores

  • Partner Store applications require business and location verification before the store becomes an active network point.
  • An approved Partner Store agrees to securely hold parcels in transit and to release them only after the correct verification code or QR scan.
  • Partner Store compensation for handling fees follows VARTKO's active partner compensation rules.
  • VARTKO may suspend or deactivate a Partner Store's status for repeated verification failures, mishandled parcels, or breach of these Terms.

10. Liability and insurance

VARTKO takes reasonable operational steps to move parcels safely through its network, but does not guarantee against loss, damage or delay beyond what is stated in a confirmed shipment. Where offered, optional shipment insurance covers loss or damage up to the declared value you provide at booking, subject to review. To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, VARTKO's liability for any claim is limited to the shipment's confirmed value or the applicable insurance coverage, whichever applies.

11. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to misuse VARTKO's platform — including providing false information, attempting to circumvent verification steps, harassing riders, customers or Partner Store staff, or using the service for any unlawful purpose. VARTKO may suspend or terminate an account for violation of these Terms.

12. Intellectual property

The VARTKO name, logo, apps and platform are the property of VARTKO. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use VARTKO's branding or intellectual property outside of using the service as intended.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from your use of VARTKO will first be addressed through VARTKO Support, and if unresolved, is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as VARTKO's services evolve. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use VARTKO after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
